MXR could have released another version of the Klon to complete an already comprehensive range. But before pulling the trigger, they considered what could still make a Klon different: Why not a mini version in a world of overcrowded pedalboards? And why not a more affordable price compared to most "Klon clones" that capitalize on the astronomical demand for the original? In doing so, the Tone control was refined to better control the highs, especially with combinations of single-coil pickups and very clean amplifiers, so everyone can get the most out of the drive.
