nut file backer, for narrow files
Get a grip on thin files! Stop those skinny files from jumping, wandering, and bending. Gauged Nut Slotting Files are great, but the thin ones can be tough to hold. It's hard to start a slot without the file chattering or drifting off your line - one small mistake can ruin a new nut. The handy Nut File Backer acts like a spine, stiffening the file for a straighter, more accurate cut. And it's much easier to hold on to: no more slipping and sliding on a slick nut or saddle.

It's important to hold your files perfectly horizontal when filing new slots, and this backer makes it easy to tell when your alignment is just right. The file is supported along its entire length — you'll never need to worry about bending your files.

Simply slide your file into the backer, tighten the 4 hex screws, then file away! Switching out files is a breeze. No special tools needed, any 1/16 inch hex key will work. Just loosen the screws, swap the files, tighten, and you're ready to go.
