Platinum Matched, selected tubes. The JJ EL 844 has nice mids, sparkling highs and solid bottom end characterize this tube. Reduced output and earlier breakup compared to a JJ EL84 tube. You will have less clean headroom but more tube distortion setting in at lower volume compared to a EL84 tube. Drop-in replacement for most cathode and fixed biased EL84 amps.

The JJ GZ34 / 5AR4 is another affordable replacement rectifier tube for both guitar and hi-fi amplifiers.
