Potentiometer Cleaning Cap M8

Potentiometer cleaning caps for use with aerosol cleaners such as DeoxIT. This is a great tool for difficult to clean potentiometers such as those on hollow body guitars and certain amp chassis. The design pushes the spray in through the bushing of the potentiometer removing the need to access the back of the potentiometer. Fits M8 thread pots.

To use:
Remove the knob and thread the cleaning cap onto the potentiometer. If there is enough bushing, attach the rubber o-ring first. If not, simply thread the cleaning cap onto the bushing and place a rag around it. Using a rag is recommended with and without the o-ring. Insert the DeoxIT straw into the small hole on the side of the cleaning cap. Cover the open end with your finger and spray. The cleaning solution is directed to the shaft of the pot where it can seep in. You can turn split shaft pots with a screwdriver through the open end to help move the cleaner around inside the pot.
